Launching The Lancet Countdown on Health & Plastics

As governments and stakeholders gather in Geneva for the resumed fifth session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC 5.2), The Lancet is set to unveil a landmark report evaluating health impacts across the entire plastic life cycle—and to kick off an independent global monitoring initiative: The Lancet Countdown on Health and Plastics. Inspired by the success of the Health and Climate Change Countdown, this new effort will track how plastic pollution threatens human well-being and inform the forthcoming global plastics treaty.
